Retaining its original Victorian character, the property has been refurbished using as many natural products as possible in all areas of the Hotel, reducing the environmental and carbon impact.

Natural organic clay paints were used throughout, Thermafleece (sheeps fleece) was chosen for internal insulation, the original windows were replaced with identical handmade hardwood sash windows - double glazed to achieve current heat loss regulations, reclaimed stained glass was used in the skylights.

New plumbing and wiring installed and fire regulations to exceed requirements, 98% efficient boilers chosen, the mains water pressure upgraded and a filtration system installed to remove chlorine - persticides from the water.
